LDPE

Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a type of plastic from the polyethylene family, characterized by its lower density and molecular weight compared to High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). Due to its higher degree of branching, LDPE is more flexible and less expensive. It is widely used in products that require softness and cost efficiency, such as packaging materials, plastic bags, films, and various coatings. While LDPE offers good resistance to moisture and certain chemicals, its chemical resistance is generally lower than that of HDPE. Being recyclable, LDPE also represents a more sustainable option for many applications. Organic peroxides are efficient initiators for the ethylene polymerization under high pressure in both autoclave and tubular processes. To obtain a wide spectrum of polymerization temperatures, combinations of different peroxides are applied in practice. The most commonly used initiators in LDPE production are DTBP TBPPI TBPEH TBPIN.
